Sensors are classified as temperature, oil pressure, combined type, speed and position sensors
1.Coolant temperature sensor
The sensor is located on the front right side of the cylinder head, near the thermostat. Its function is to control the fan operation, adjust the starting oil supply, control the oil supply timing and protect the diesel generator. Its working range is between - 40 s and 40 ℃. The failure of the sensor will lead to the reduction of diesel phase warble speed, power reduction and difficulty in starting. If the diesel generator protection function is turned on, the diesel generator will be shut down.
2.Fuel temperature sensor
The sensor is installed above the fuel filter housing. Its function is that the ECM uses the signal of the sensor to control the fuel heater and protect the diesel generator. Its working range is - 40, 140 ℃. The failure of the sensor will affect the performance of the diesel generator.
3.Fuel common rail pressure sensor
The sensor is installed in the high-pressure common rail. Its function is that the ECM uses the sensor signal to determine the fuel pressure in the fuel rail, and uses it to calculate the fuel supply quantity. Its working range is 0 and 0 MPa. The failure of the sensor will cause the power of the diesel generator to drop, the speed to drop, or even stop.
4.Atmospheric pressure sensor
The sensor is installed in the ECM800 of the diesel generator. Its function is that the ECM uses the sensor signal to determine the current atmospheric pressure for air fuel ratio control and altitude power reduction control. Because it is installed in the ECM, it cannot be tested and repaired. If it fails, it must be handled by the service personnel.
5.Combined oil pressure/temperature sensor
The sensor is installed on the oil filter base. Its function is that the ECM uses the sensor to measure the pressure parameters of the oil for the protection of the diesel generator. The measured temperature parameters are used for maintenance monitoring. The working range of the pressure sensor is between 50 and 600 kPa, and the working range of the temperature sensor is between - 40 s and 25 ℃. The failure of the sensor will cause the power drop and speed reduction. If the diesel generator protection function is turned on, it will cause the shutdown.
6.Intake pressure/temperature combined sensor
The sensor is installed in the intake manifold behind the supercharger in the intake system. Its function is that the ECM uses the sensor to measure the pressure parameters of the supercharger for the control of the air-fuel mixture ratio. The measured temperature parameters are used for the protection of the diesel generator and the control of the fan clutch. The working range of the pressure sensor is 5~400 kPa, and the working range of the temperature sensor is between - 40~125 ℃. The failure of the sensor will cause power reduction, speed reduction and difficulty in starting the diesel generator. If the diesel generator protection function is turned on, it will lead to shutdown.
7.Diesel generator position sensor (camshaft position sensor)
The sensor is installed on the gearbox housing of the diesel generator, located between the air compressor and the fuel pump, facing the camshaft. Its function is that the ECM uses the sensor to measure the position of the camshaft and determine the timing of the diesel generator, which is mainly used for the control of the fuel supply timing of the diesel generator. The failure of the sensor will lead to insufficient power, unstable idle speed, white smoke emission, difficulty in starting and even shutdown of the diesel generator.
